Join me for Field Notes: Nature Journaling Walk, a beginner-friendly outdoor sketching workshop rooted in slow looking, observation, and the small natural details hiding in plain sight.
This workshop is less about making a perfect page and more about learning how to notice: shapes, rhythms, textures, colors, and the living details we usually walk past.

In this class, we will explore the basics of science illustration like observational drawing, measuring/scaling, and rendering our illustrations. We will practice graphite, pen/ink, and watercolor techniques through the study of various specimens.

Grab your sketchbook and a ballpoint pen to explore the fascinating world of insects! We will practice quick and loose sketching in graphite and ballpoint pen from various insect specimens. We will also use colored pencils to recreate the colorful and textured exoskeletons of our arthropod models.
Brush Hour: Watercolor Landscapes

Explore intricate patterns and vibrant colors of butterflies using colored pencils and matte Dura-Lar! We will be studying the unique and colorful patterns of butterfly and moth wings. During our workshop we will practice color pencil techniques and use matte Dura-Lar - a textured plastic which is translucent and can be drawn on both sides.
